NUMBER 1

2010

Hello Shipmates and Associate Members,

As summer comes to an end and thought are on the coming holidays, I hope all is well.

I have been talking to Ted at AFRI and we have been discussing the hotel for the 2012 reunion in Chicago.  I have talkie to several members in the Chicago area and the conclusion is that downtown would be a lot more desirable than out of town.  As the reunion draws closer, any suggestions on which tours to take would be appreciated.

Secretary and Membership Chairman Wayne Erven reports that there are now over four hundred lifetime members.  As Wayne says, "Another group that will not be paying dues henceforth."  If your membership expires in 2010, this will be your last issue.  Please take the time and renew now, so Wayne won't have to send you a reminder.

The next issue will be in December so I want to remind everyone to get out and vote this coming November.  Although a mid-term election, there are several issues that will be settled.  We served to defend the right to vote, so let's use it!!

Thanksgiving will also be history.  I hope you have a great start to the holiday season.  Enjoy your family and friends.  And most of all, be safe!!

                                                                                                                            Take care,

                                                                                                                                John Hunter
